When Walt Disney’s daughters were young, weekend outings with their dad were often limited to amusement parks that were dirty, rundown, and didn’t offer much for them to do together. This lack of family-friendly entertainment inspired Walt to create Disneyland — the original theme park. Since Disneyland first opened 60 years ago, billions of guests around the world have created lifelong memories with their loved ones at our domestic and international parks.
Many families living across the United States do not have the opportunity to travel to our parks. We challenge you to design a traveling experience that will tour small towns across the United States. This temporary venue will operate in each community for two to three days, should take no more than a day to set up and break down, and embody the kind of family entertainment that Walt envisioned when he first built Disneyland.
